Archaeology Videos

A few of my historical reconstruction landscapes can now be found in some nifty videos on identifying archaeological features. The videos can be found on the High Weald AONB Youtube Channel.

I have this method for being able to draw things, it seemed to work once before with elephants; I filled pages and pages of my sketchbook with ink, brush drawings of elephants (as observed via google) and was granted the gift to draw elephants in whatever pose that I desired for about 2 days (magic). I've tried the same thing with foxes, and so far it hasn't worked! This would be useful, if one desired to illustrated the story of Reynard the Fox, as the protagonist is found in situations that you probably wouldn't normally associate with foxes; biting the testicles off a priest, amongst other things.

A brief experiment in Gyotaku printing with sumi, on unsized rice paper. The ink literally jumped into the paper instantly, though it would be interesting to try this with something slightly less absorbent. A small amount of drawing is required to pick out details such as the eyes, though I also slightly enhanced the rays of the fins and added some outlines as well.

New Pages

I have recently added two new pages to my blog so that examples of the types of Illustration that I offer can easily be seen. The links to these pages should appear as buttons just above this text.
